Challenge:
As one of the largest brewers in the Netherlands, this client aimed to revolutionize its brewery operations by harnessing real-time operational data. Their goal was to increase productivity by 10% across more than 150 breweries worldwide. However, they faced the complex challenge of unifying diverse data systems, scaling solutions internationally, and ensuring a smooth adoption process on the shop floors.
Solution:
In his role as CTO at Schuberg Philis, Roeland Kuipers led the Connected Brewery Program, working closely with the brewer to design a transformative, data-driven solution for their brewery network. Roeland’s approach prioritized both technology and people, ensuring that the solution empowered the workforce while delivering tangible operational benefits.
The Connected Brewery Program involved developing a high-level data architecture that could capture and process real-time operational data from breweries globally. Roeland’s team created a unified “digital brewery” platform that integrated critical metrics—including energy use, production efficiency, and equipment performance—and transformed these insights into actionable data that teams could leverage daily.
Impact:
The program successfully drove a targeted 10% increase in efficiency across the brewer’s global network. By providing an intuitive platform, the program enabled faster, data-informed decisions and fostered an empowered, technology-friendly culture on the brewery floor. This project set the stage for further digital transformation initiatives and solidified Schuberg Philis’ reputation for delivering impactful, industry-specific solutions.
