Project: IT Landscape Consolidation and Development Foundation with Microsoft Azure
Objective: Streamline hosting landscape, enhance compliance, and create a foundation for agile development

Challenge:
The client had built a complex IT infrastructure spanning over eight different hosting providers. This multi-provider setup hindered agility, manageability, and compliance, creating challenges in maintaining security standards and meeting ISO27001 and GDPR regulations. To simplify and strengthen their IT operations, the client decided to consolidate onto Microsoft Azure, creating a unified, secure, and scalable cloud environment.

Solution:
In collaboration with the client, BouL designed and deployed a robust Azure Landing Zone based on Microsoft’s Cloud Adoption Framework. This secure foundation was tailored to meet ISO27001 and GDPR compliance, incorporating best practices in data security, network segmentation, and access controls.

Additionally, BouL structured the Azure platform to support future development in alignment with the Team Topologies framework. This operating model facilitated collaboration across three or more development teams, each with a defined purpose and clear communication channels. The Team Topologies approach enabled these teams to work more autonomously and effectively within the Azure environment, accelerating innovation and scalability across the organization.

Impact:
Within weeks, the Azure Landing Zone provided the client with a streamlined IT landscape, reducing complexity and ensuring compliance. More importantly, this foundation empowered the client’s development teams with a flexible, scalable environment that supported agile workflows and rapid deployment of new features.
